Stegreif - The Improvising Symphony Orchestra shows what a contemporary orchestra can look like: cross-genre musicians play without notes, without a conductor, freely in space and improvise on symphonic music. This is how classical arrangements are created in a new guise. A drum installation conceived by N.U. Unruh (Einstürzende Neubauten). For this hands-on event self-created drumtables are provided for the audience and will be playedwith sticks. Everybody can immediately participate without particular knowledge. Groovy play-along tracks monitored from the P.A. system function as rhythmical orientation during drumming. Mitsune is a Japanese folk fusion band based in Berlin, with members from Japan, Germany, Australia and Greece.
